The University System of Maryland Financial Aid Task Force was formed by the Chancellor of the University System of Maryland in June 2004. The Task Force studied financial aid issues at the undergraduate, graduate and professional school levels, and made recommendations to ensure that Maryland higher education remains affordable to qualified students. To that end, the Task Force surveyed the best financial aid policies at Maryland institutions; considered ways to improve the efficiency of financial aid operations; and developed ways to enhance financial aid resources.

The Task Force submitted its final report to the Chancellor in December 2004.
