Annual Report to Governor & General Assembly due Oct. 1 (Chapter 490, Acts of 2004. Code State Government Article, sec. 9-801).

The Task Force on the Status of Women and Information Technology was authorized in July 2004 (Chapter 489, Acts of 2004). The Task Force is to study issues relating to the declining involvement of girls and women in information technology. What impact the decline has on the workforce's overall technological literacy will be studied, as well as the future state of the workforce. Additionally, the Task Force is to create an awareness throughout the State of the status of women and information technology, and identify and observe current laws, regulations, and programs in order to pinpoint those that address the issues of education and workforce development most efficiently.

A statewide plan for women and information technology will be devised by the Task Force.

Authorization for the Task Force extends to June 30, 2009.
