Responsible for oversight of departments of Agriculture; Business and Economic Development; Environment; General Services; Housing and Community Development; Labor, Licensing, and Regulation; Natural Resources; Planning; and Transportation; the Office of Minority Affairs; State Department of Assessments and Taxation; Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund; Maryland Economic Development Corporation; Maryland Energy Administration; Maryland Environmental Service; Maryland Insurance Administration; State Lottery Agency; and Maryland Stadium Authority.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, August 22, 1971. Attended Gilman School; University of Pennsylvania, B.A. (history), 1993; University of Virginia School of Law, J.D., 2000 (executive editor, Virginia Journal of International Law). Cornerstone Award (for pro bono work on behalf of Harlem firehouse which lost three firefighter on September 11, 2001), Lawyers Alliance for New York.
